The Eden English department offers the compulsory English courses – grades 9 - 12 Applied, Academic, College and University – required for an Ontario High School diploma. It also offers electives: grade 11 Media Studies [EMS 3O1], grade 12 Writer’s Craft [EWC 4U/C1] and Grade 12  Literature Studies (ETS 4U).

Partners in Literacy (IDC4U) is an interdisciplinary course that includes psychology, sociology, and education research to prepare students to create and deliver lessons for At-Risk Literacy students.

Eden High School is proud to say that over 90% of grade 10's typically pass the OSSLT (Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test), a standardized provincial examination that is a requirement for a high school diploma. Along with the literacy committee, staff collaboratively prepare students for this test and have experienced great success.

Eden English teachers are not only involved in the classroom, they are also involved in many extra and co-curricular activities such as theatre outings, school plays, writing contests, coaching and professional development.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the school and ask for Mrs Heather Lailey, the head of the Eden English department.
